Etsy will launch its “Early Holiday Sales shopping experience” on October 24 and has asked merchants to join by either selling the contents of their whole store or selling specific products.
To participate in Etsy’s Early Holiday sales event, merchants must plan a 20% off sale from October 24 to November 17.
Etsy is also having a Cyber Week bargain. Sellers must plan a shop-wide sale for November 18-30 in order to participate in this event.
The Cyber Week sale will be accessible just to Etsy app shoppers on the first day, before opening to all consumers on the 19th.
Etsy directed merchants to its pricing strategy post, which featured the following advice:
Pricing via discounting
“Integrating discounts into your pricing strategy early on makes it simpler to evaluate the effect on both sides of the transaction, both in terms of how you establish your base price and how running deals or coupons affects your average order value, sales volume, and total income.”
“If your starting pricing allows for a reasonable profit margin, you may then discount to achieve other goals, such as attracting new clients, boosting average order value, or increasing purchase frequency.”
Etsy also directed owners to its Guide to Etsy’s 2022 Holiday Sales Events, which included advice such as reminding sellers to clarify delivery times:
“Holiday consumers want to know that their presents will be delivered on time. Check that your processing timeframes are up to date and that your shipping profiles are entirely filled out. Consider increasing your processing times if you need additional time to finish orders during your busy season.”
